Legendary journalist Bill Moyers electrified an audience of more than
3,500 in Minneapolis Saturday morning calling the media reform movement
"the most significant citizens’ movement to emerge in this new century." Here’s the video.
Moyers said that the work of activists has "challenged the
stranglehold of mega-media corporations over our press" and fostered
"alternative and independent sources of news and information that
people can trust."
Other speakers this weekend include as Larry Lessig, Rep. Keith Ellison, Dan Rather, Arianna Huffington and Van Jones. They’ve already put up several videos at freepress.net/conference/video. And here’s the UpTake’s coverage of the National Conference for Media Reform. Wish I could be up in Minneapolis for this.

What is REALLY IMPORTANT is the fact that nowhere can I find the printed text of Moyers speech. Sure, there are lots of posted videos but here is the important fact: THE PEOPLE THAT NEED TO READ THIS SPEECH CAN’T RUN THE VIDEO, DON’T HAVE HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTIONS, AND CAN ONLY READ THE TEXT. WAKE UP AND SEE WHERE THE REAL BATTLEGROUND IS.
Everyone, PLEASE make the text of this important speech widely available. Thank you
