On our Silicon Valley blogger trip to Israel in April I made fast friends with Ayelet Noff, aka Blonde 2.0, who’s one of the top social marketing consultants in Israel. Ayelet put together a blogger dinner for us and helped organize much of our nightlife itinerary.
So when Ayelet flew out for the TechCrunch50 conference this week, I had to return the favor. Tonight I put together a blogger dinner for Ayelet at Triptych in San Francisco’s SOMA district. Because it’s a small place, had to make it invitation only.
Among those who said they’d come out:
Renee Blodgett
Deborah Schultz
Craig Newmark
Stowe Boyd [didn’t make it]
Dave Toole
Chris Heuer
Kristie Wells
Tom Foremski
Emily Chang [didn’t make it]
Dave Sifry [didn’t make it]
Emily Goligoski
Deborah Kaplan (executive director of ZeroFootprint) [didn’t make it]
Itzik Cohen [didn’t make it]
Assaf Resnick (an Israeli VC) [didn’t make it]
David Sokolic (works at Battery Ventures and is helping them expand their Israeli presence)
Arnon Kohavi (founder of Mapplr)
(Sarah Lacy, Robert Scoble and Cathy Brooks send their regrets, they’re out of town.)
Later: Probably the best blogger dinner I’ve been to. Terrific venue, great food, nonstop yakking. (Only downside: I got stuck with a $200+ bill.)

David Sifry says
JD,
My apologies! I had to go home early for family reasons tonight. Bummed to have missed it…
Dave
Roger says
Hey, $200 for nine guests? That’s a pretty good deal!
JD says
I probably shouldn’t have mentioned that … No, the bill came to $620, so that was my share. It’s been a recurring theme for me (getting stuck with the bulk of group dinner bills) since I was in college. :~)
Whatever. It was well worth it so see Ayelet and everyone.
JD says
Dave, we missed ya there! Next time for sure…
Chris Heuer says
It was a great one JD – thanks for inviting us – quite the conversation!
Kristie Wells says
JD, thank you so much for organizing. I agree, it was one of the best ‘blogger dinners’ I have been to. Great and very diverse conversation at that table.
I am sorry to hear about you getting stuck with a portion of the bill. Thought it was all sorted out before everyone left, but it seems not. Far from cool in my book.
JD says
Kristie, it’s all taken care of now.
Thanks for coming, great spending some quality chat time with you!
