Sunday we attended American Jeff Pulver‘s power breakfast kicking off The Marker Com.Vention.
Liked it quite a bit — reminded me of a combination AlwaysOn Innovation Summit at Stanford with a bit of a Consumer Electronics Show thrown in. I posted photos of the show, and I’ll post a video interview I conducted with Jeff (with my Nokia N95 cell phone) soon. Ayelet Noff writes about our gathering here.
At night we attended GarageGeeks, a regular gathering of Tel Aviv’s digerati. (“Physical & virtual space for multi-disciplinary creative people to meet, innovate and build non-commercial projects that would otherwise may not come to life.”) A photo of the scene is above. Did the meet and greet with a few dozen tech personalities and VCs while Jeff Pulver cooked mini-burgers. Especially enjoyed meeting a filmmaker who made a documentary about Israeli and Palestinian women who joined a weight loss clinic and found peace in a common cause. It’ll be released on the Sundance channel in the U.S. in several months.
