At the Digital Hollywood conference last month I appeared on a panel with Jessica Steel, vice president of business development for Pandora, and afterward she spent a few minutes talking about how Pandora’s music recommendation system works.
Pandora is my favorite music site (Last.fm is another), and they’re constantly serving up artists that I hadn’t heard of and now like. It’s all about personalized radio and serendipity. Love being a fan of these new groups.

Good interview. I have subscribed to them, off and on, for almost 2 years. It was interesting to hear how the “parse” music.
I find it an excellent means of expanding my music taste. Being in my 60’s, new stuff has some pretty tough classical competition.
Thanks,
Tony
