Today I appeared on AdHocnium’s Social Media Hour podcast with host Cathy Brooks and guests Chris Heuer, Adriana Lukas, Jeff Pulver and Hayden Black.
It was a fun-filled hour that flew by fast, so I thought I’d repost it here. (You can find the show’s details, and past episodes, at our BlogTalkRadio page.)
Here’s the interview. Stream or download (Time: 60:00):

AdHocnium is a confederacy of independent consultants working as a social media unagency. Highlights:
• Minutes 5-13: Jeff Pulver discusses next week’s 140 Character conference. Jeff makes some interesting observations about the hyperconnectivity of the real-time web exemplified by Twitter. “It’s not going away.”
• Minutes13-32: Adriana Lukas and I discuss patient-driven health care, the rise of patient communities and how pharmaceutical companies are grappling with social media even as they remain tangled up in regulations governing Adriana and I argue that health care and pharma companies should not use compliance regulations like adverse event regulations as a shield against engagement and direct communication with patients and physicians.
• Minutes 33-55: Hayden Black, producer of the Internet TV show “Goodnight, Burbank,” talks about his upcoming fantasy/sci-fi show — they’re now shooting the pilot — which is already attracting the attention of Hollywood celebrities who are clamoring for a guest spot.
Steve Garfield calls in to point out that Gary Vaynerchuk used a Flip camera instead of elaborate, expensive equipment for the latest episode of his popular online wine show.
Hayden said he was “amazed: that Hollywood hasn’t caught on to idea of using the Web as a show incubator. They could easily do 20 episodes for the cost of one TV pilot.
The Social Media Hour repeats every Tuesday at 10 am PDT.
