Just got off the phone with NYU new media prof Mark Dery and his journalism class on the subject of blogging. Great, great questions from Mark and his students covering such subjects of what makes a good blog, short-form and long-form blogs, political blogs, use of multimedia in the blog form, how to attract a readership, blog tools like Feedster, Technorati and PubSub, fair use and borrowing of photos and video clips to comment upon, and blogging as an opportunity to recapture the tradition of first-person journalism. Here are the 11 blogs the students have started writing — you’ll be hearing more from these smart young people:

hehe, it is really to find that we also did the same thing in the University of Hong Kong. I would like to suggest http://jmsc.bounceme.net/nmw. But maybe we missed “fair use of photos”. I will suggest my professor.
