This Wednesday evening (Aug. 29) I’ll be one of the judges at the fourth Pier Screening put on by NewTeeVee, featuring citizen media videos. The event takes place outside on Pier 38 in San Francisco in all of its splendor and heat lamp warmth. Other judges are Wall Street Journal tech columnist Kara Swisher and Ferris Gibson, the documentary filmmaker of 24 Hours on Craigslist.
It’s not too late to enter. This month’s theme is citizen news. What does that mean? Any non-fiction, short-form video you’ve created that tells a story about something out there in the universe. Could be a documentary, could be a news spot, could be an interview, could be a cellphone-cam clip of an important event. Keep it under five minutes and make sure you own the rights.
You can check out the videos here
and vote for your
favorites. If you’d like to attend the event just R.S.V.P. on the EventBrite page. (Or just drop by.) They’re also planning to stream this event live online with Veodia.
